EOG Companion Nearpods / Life Science Launch

EOG Companion Nearpods / Life Science Launch

Greetings all!

I have an update to my earlier post: The Life Science companion Nearpod have launched in my TPT shop!

I’ve been taking the “integrated” approach to my EOG review this year – covering a physical science standard one day, an earth science standard the next, and then 1 or 2 life science standards (i.e., 8.P.1.1 / 8.E.1.1 / 8.L.3.1 + 8.L.3.2) followed by a review and quiz day on all standards to review and continually spiral content.

I’ve been using my EOG Prep pages coupled with Nearpod (it’s free) and it has really transformed my EOG prep season (check out my earlier post here).

How do I prep? I print out each of the prep pages, and students assemble them into a simple 3-prong folder, labeled with their name. I *do* have a student helper distribute and collect them at the beginning and end of each class since I don’t want these to go missing for whatever reason. When it’s time to review a particular standard, students turn to the page, enter the Nearpod code and we roll. When we’re done, they move on to the apply-it tasks.

Here’s the rundown and links of the EOG prep materials in my TPT shop:

As mentioned in my last post, I’ve been using these during the last few days since we’ve stared our EOG prep and it truly makes reviewing that much easier! Because each Nearpod includes variety of tasks and activities and/or question-based videos for students complete as they complete their EOG review page, it:
🌟 boosts engagement
🌟 give me real-time feedback
🌟 exposes student thinking
🌟 allows me to adjust instruction *in the moment* as necessary!

I spend more time discussing topics/posing questions or sharing anecdotal information instead of focusing on writing the answers on the board.

As a reminder, these are all ready-made so you can easily add them to your Nearpod Library and launch the lesson in “Live” mode or in “Student-Paced” mode (depending on your class needs) making facilitation a breeze! Even better?! They’re editable so you can add in MORE activities, tasks, questions etc. if you’d like!

Happy learning!
