Today we started a mini unit (and I mean super mini) on biotechnology and genetically modified organisms (GMOs)! To warm up we revisited our flashcards for the week. Shoutout to my student Anna! Check out these AWESOME, OUT OF CONTROL AMAZING FLASHCARDS she made!
We learned that biotechnology is an attempt at genetically modifying living organisms to provide solutions for various problems. This is quite a controversial issue and we used an awesome infograph (pictured below) to help us sort through “the good, the bad and the ugly” of GMOs. Brace yourself, this is a rather long (but SUPER helpful) infograph.
We turned this infograph into a booklet with questions to help us analyze all the information. You can find this document below:
